Anwer Khan Modern Medical College in Dhaka offers a comprehensive medical education program, with its main focus being the five-year MBBS course. The MBBS program is structured in several phases:
First Professional MBBS Course: Spanning the first one and a half years, it includes subjects like Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Medical Biochemistry, and Community Medicine.
Second Professional MBBS Course: Lasting for one year, it covers Community Medicine and Forensic Medicine.
Third Professional MBBS Course: Also lasting one year, this includes Pathology, Microbiology, and Pharmacology & Therapeutics.
Final Professional MBBS Course: Spanning one and a half years, it covers Surgery & Allied Subjects, Medicine & Allied Subjects, Gynecology & Obstetrics.
The University of Dhaka conducts four professional examinations during these five years at different stages of the course.
For admission, candidates must have passed the SSC (Secondary School Certificate) or equivalent examination in science and the HSC (Higher Secondary School Certificate) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, attaining a minimum total GPA of 9 (with a minimum of 3.5 in either SSC or HSC) and a minimum GPA of 3.00 in Biology in HSC. Equivalent qualifications from foreign education systems are also accepted with an equivalence certificate from the Director General of Health Service in Bangladesh.
Applications for admission are typically invited by the Director General of the Health Services, and the admission process is overseen by the college’s principal and admission committee. The application process involves submitting a completed application form along with relevant documents to the college office within the announced dates.
For foreign students, the Government of Bangladesh sets the rules and procedures for admission to medical colleges. These students must have 12 years of schooling and their grades must be equivalent to the Bangladeshi SSC and HSC.
The admission process for foreign students involves attesting documents from the foreign ministry of their country, depositing attested documents and a filled admission form to the Bangladesh Embassy in their country for processing, and then sending copies of these documents to Anwer Khan Modern Medical College for seat reservatio

January 2009 : First batch of student admitted in MBBS Course.
January 2014 : 2 foreign student from India got admitted in Anwer Khan Modern Medical College.
January 2015 : 36 foreign student from Nepal, India, USA got admitted in foreign quota.
January 2015 : Anwer Khan Modern Medical College 2nd batch students pass the final professional MBBS exam under University of Dhaka with a record pass percentage of 96.5%, highest among all government and private medical colleges under University of Dhaka.
